Silver & Enamel Butter Knives Hallmarks Sheffield 1929 by Herbert Edward Barker & Frant Ernest Barker offered for sale by silver2treasure.

This is a lovely unusual Cased Set of 6 Solid Silver Handled & Enamel Butter Knives. The enamelled handles are the same on both the front and back and consist of 2 blue, 1 light green, 1 light yellow, 1 gold and 1 lilac. The blades are stamped "Firth's Sheffield (in a shield BB over S.Ld) Stainless Steel". This set comes complete in its original box

Assay Office: SHEFFIELD

Date: 1929

Makers Marks: HEB FEB (Barker Brothers (Herbert Edward Barker & Frant Ernest Barker)

Dimensions: Just under 6.5 inches long in total, the silver and enamel handles just under 3 inches long

Condition: They are all in very good condition. It looks as if there is slight enamel loss but this is in fact where the hallmarks have been stamped. The box is in good condition inside with just a couple of little small areas of wear to the outside edges

Remarks: A very nice cased set of solid silver & enamel handled butter knives. I have to say that I have come across many sets of silver and enamel spoons but I have not seen any silver and enamel butter knives so these are quite unusual.
