French Silver Small Beaker

0

French Silver Small Beaker offered for sale by silver2treasure.

This is a good French Silver small Beaker/Cup/Measure in the shape of a Thimbe/Barrel. It has a lined decoration to the top and base which gives it a barrel look to it. It is made from a good guage and is of a good weight

Identifying Marks: It has the head of Minerva with a mark by her chin, but unfortunately I cannot quite make it out so I am afraid that I can give no further information. There is another mark to the left of this but again it is very small and I cannot make it out. There is an engraving on the underside of the base which reads "Mellerio Dits Meller 1024"

Dimensions: Just under 1.5 inches tall, the top diameter is 1.5 inches and the base is just over 1 inch. It weighs 44g

Condition: It is in good condition with just some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a useable metal item, but this is minor

Remarks: A good little piece of French silver and ideal for use as a measure, liqueur tot etc.
