Antique Silver Coffee Pot Featured Item of the Week

0

Featured item of this week is this delightful Antique Silver Coffee Pot bearing hallmarks for London 1894. This practical useable antique is worth viewing and a must have for any collector.

The website building is progressing slowly with 17 categories now created  and about 36 items listed to date. This is only a small proportion of over 370 listed in our ebay shop at the moment.

Ah the "E" word. I really do wonder at Ebay and their current performance. They have announced they are shedding 1000 jobs and their stock price drops yet they do little to help the position with their poor customer service. I shall repeat a converstation I overheard this week between my wife Karen and Powerseller support. The discussion started as Karen had listed a nice set of 4 Tiffany Sterling Silver dishes. They had been successfully listed for 1 week but she was not allowed to relist them for a second week. She sent several emails which were ignored so she made the dreaded telephone call to see what the problem was. After giving the item number she explained the previous listing and then asked "Can you please tell me why I am unable to relist them?"

Reply; "well madam you have reached your limit"

Question: "What limit is that?"

Reply: "Your Tiffany limit"

Question " But I have only listed about 3 items of Tiffany over the last 4 years how can I have reached a limit"

Reply: "you cannot list it as you have reached your limit"

Question "There are dozens of Tiffany items on ebay at the moment, how can they be listed if there is a limit"

Reply: "There is a limit on the amount of Tiffany sellers can list"

Question: "So what is my limit?"

Reply: "I do not know"

Question "So put me through to the department who does then"

Reply " I am sorry I cannot do that as I don't have the number"

Karen gave up then and listed the item without the Tiffany name. So if you are looking for 4 nice Tiffany Sterling Silver dishes you will not find them on an ebay search using the word Tiffany!

It is getting ever more difficult to work with Ebay hence next week I shall be putting more time aside to create more categories and list more items on this site.

So far the search engine spiders have been busy and the new website and blog continues to be indexed and the number of visitors is growing daily. I am still waiting to see if my plans not to include an unfriendly shopping cart is a good one. No sales from the site to date but it is very early days yet.
