Silver Vases and Epergnes are among many table centre pieces to be made and cherished over the centuries. Epergnes were first seen as extravagant centrepieces in the Frenh Court in the late 1600's. The design was that of a single stand with a central basket surrounded by several small suspended baskets from the central stem. Other shapes quickly followed and the central vase surrounded by three smaller bud vases became popular.
